Montreval Tamerin
Two treatment rooms over the shallows, with the floor open to the water.
Sérène Tamerin is deliberately the smallest spa in the collection: two treatment rooms and a rest deck, standing on piles over the shallows. Each room has a glazed cut-out in the floor beneath the treatment table, which sounds like a gimmick and is, in practice, the reason people book a second treatment.
There is no sauna, no steam room and no pool. The lagoon is thirty degrees for most of the year and the freshwater pool is ninety seconds' walk away; building a heat facility here would have been an exercise in filling a brochure.
What is here
Open
09:00 – 19:00 daily.
Use of the baths, saunas and pools is included in every stay. Treatments are charged.
Treatments
Four rather than nineteen. A long menu is usually a way of avoiding the harder work of knowing what to recommend.
1 h 15/€205
Salt from the eastern pans, coconut oil pressed on the motu, and firm pressure through the shoulders.
50 min/€155
For necks and lower backs that have spent three hours face-down in a lagoon. More common than you would think.
1 h/€180
Very light pressure, very little conversation, directly above the water.
Elsewhere
Lake Verane, the Verane Valley
A thermal bath cut into the hillside, and a cold pool fed straight from the lake.
07:00 – 21:00 daily. Treatments from 09:00.
Below the escarpment, the Sabaia Sands
A hammam under canvas, and a cold room at eleven degrees when the desert is at thirty.
08:00 – 20:00 daily. Hammam heated from 14:00.

Northern shore, Lindhavn Fjord
Two saunas, a steam room, and a hole in the deck into four hundred metres of fjord.
06:00 – 24:00 daily. Treatments 09:00 – 20:00.
Reservations
Our own team answers, not an agency. Rates fall on the fourth night and again on the seventh, which tells you what we would prefer.
